Text Box: Welcome! You are about to begin your venture into Brazilian Embroidery. What is it? Letís take a look.
Brazilian embroidery began in, thatís right, Brazil. The reason it is still called Brazilian is the threads used. Other embroidery techniques usually use cotton, silk or wool threads that are S twist. Brazilian embroidery uses rayon threads that are Z twist. This distinction is important because the various stitches requiring twisting or casting on must be done in a clockwise motion or the threads unravel.
These beautiful threads are manufactured right here in the USA and are available in over 290 colors and seven weights.
